Total War: Attila is a computer video game in the strategy genre from the popular line of the same name created by the independent studio Creative Assembly.

The game is essentially a reissue of the supplement to Rome: Total War called Barbarian Invasion.

Plot

As in all games of the Total War series, there is no plot in this part. Each faction has its own special historical goals that must be achieved in order to complete the campaign. However, even after completing them, you can continue to play, which makes Total War: Attila a classic sandbox.

This time the action takes place at the sunset of the Western Roman Empire – from 395 to 476. The game describes events such as the decline of Roman culture and the invasion of barbarians. A key role in the narrative is played by the young leader of the Huns Attila, who practically brought Rome to its knees.

Gameplay

The gameplay adheres to the corporate identity inherent in the eponymous series. And yet it is possible to highlight some features:

• the huge influence of weather conditions on the behavior of units, the development of the faction, the mood of the population and the level of harvest;
• research tree;
• the ability to upgrade the skills and characteristics of commanders;
• now sea and land battles have become one;
• the possibility of destroying cities;
• the presence of nomadic factions with unique development mechanics;
• a developed system of dynastic relations.  

The developers have significantly expanded the choice of factions at the beginning of the campaign. If usually their number does not exceed two dozen, then here it exceeds thirty.

Graphics

Attila can be called one of the most beautiful strategies at the time of its release.
