Rus: Total War + Rus 2: Total War (2010) PC

"Rus II: Total War" was developed by VIR & Rus TW Team and belongs to the popular series of economic strategies "Total War". The peculiarity of this part is that it is not an independent game, but a mod for one of the additions, namely, Medieval II: Total War - Kingdoms. The player will have to visit the battlefields of Medieval Russia and try himself as a commander.

Gameplay

There is no special focus on the plot in the game. The main storyline and description of the game era will be told to the player at the very beginning. The actions take place in Russia in 1015, when, after the death of Vladimir the Baptist, a period of Fragmentation and the struggle of the princes for the Kiev throne began. This political situation gives the player the right both to defend the borders of his native principality and to wage internecine wars.

You can choose one of the numerous factions - to fight on the side of the Rus, defending the principality, or their historical opponents - the Polovtsians, Volga Bulgars, Pechenegs, Khazars.

Also available in the game are factions of foreign countries, such as Bulgaria, Poland, Sweden, Georgia, Alanya.

The goal of the game is to create an army, fight with enemy troops, capture citadels and defeat the rival faction.

To create an army and maintain its combat condition, you need to have a certain capital. The collection of funds is established through the development of economic enterprises – the construction of mines, support for agriculture, merchants and the establishment of taxation.

In each faction there is a certain set of troops that can be formed into combat units. Merchants, archers, swordsmen, spies, cavalry are available. Each of them has certain characteristics, strengths and weaknesses that the player must take into account when forming an army in a certain faction.

Features of the game:

1. It is possible to create battalions consisting almost entirely of mercenaries. This innovation can be useful at the initial stage of the game.
2. The choice of the game side greatly affects the further strategy. The campaign will develop in accordance with the historical and political situation that has developed between specific factions. Some are characterized by a slow gradual development and a gradual set of forces, while others can almost immediately be attacked by the enemy.
3. In this mod, there are no guilds and the player has the opportunity to organize Crusades.
