Fran Bow [Update 3] (2015) PC | RePack by R.G. Mechanics

Fran Bow is a dark psychedelic point-and-click quest. But don't take the word "psychedelic" as something funny and "drug-addicted." The point here is not at all that there is nothing funny in the game.  What is happening in this game, on the contrary, is frightening in places. The fact that you are playing as a little girl only makes the situation worse.

Plot

The main character – Fran Bow – is a ten-year-old patient of a psychological clinic, to which she got after the death (brutal murder) of her parents. The doctor prescribes Fran pills called duotin, after taking which the world around her is transformed: it becomes darker, the walls are stained with blood and threatening inscriptions, monsters appear, things are transformed as in the most terrible nightmares. Now she understands the speech of her cat, Mr. Midnight. He asks her to escape from this place and says that the pills will help her in this. Yes, and one of the monsters says something that greatly alarms little Fran, but the doctor cancels the course of pills. Then she steals them. Now she has a goal: to get out of here and find out if that monster was telling the truth about her parents.

Gameplay

What is logical for the genre is a lot of puzzles. The answers are in the most unexpected places. The concept of two worlds is very interesting: Fran needs to study the location before taking pills and after, in both worlds you can find a lot of useful information and things. Study everything you see, pay attention to all the inscriptions on the walls, talk to all the characters.

Graphics

The graphics in Fran Bow itself are very dark and atmospheric, similar to Tim Burton's films. All the elements seem to be molded from plasticine. And after taking the pills, everything becomes even darker: the effect of camera shake, blurring, etc. appears. This allows you to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere.

Fran Bow has all the qualities of a good quest:
