Field of Glory 2: Medieval will send gamers literally a thousand years back in time and will give the opportunity to participate in the most famous battles of the Middle Ages.

Review

This strategy focuses exclusively on battles. There are no classic mechanics for the genre of kingdom management, resource extraction, trade, diplomacy, and so on. Instead, users get access to a huge variety of battles, because the Middle Ages is a period of endless feudal and religious wars.

Before starting, the gamer can choose one of the many factions - the medieval kingdoms of Western and Eastern Europe, as well as the Middle East. Each of them has its own series of battles, which must be won even if it does not correspond to the story - the user has a chance to simply rewrite it.

Game process

Among the main gameplay features of the medieval strategy Field of Glory 2: Medieval, it should be noted:

1. Battles take place in turn-based mode - AI and the gamer alternately give orders to their troops. This approach forces the gamer to think through their actions in advance, according to the knowledge of tactics and strategy.
2. Each faction has its own set of units, which differ from others in their set of characteristics and appearance.
3. The troops are generally divided into several types - infantry, archers and cavalry, and between them are further divided into heavily and lightly armed.
4. Each type of unit has an advantage over the other, and inferior to the third. For example, cavalry is very effective against light infantry and archers, but suffers from spearmen. And those, in turn, do a good job with horsemen, but because of the low mobile and lack of shields, they become an easy target for shooters.
