The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth is a video game in the genre of real–time strategy, which takes place in the famous fantasy universe of Middle-earth, created by J. Tolkien.

Review

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth offers to go through two story companies – for the forces of Darkness and Light. The former are represented by the forces of Mordor and Izengrad and are obliged to defeat the humans, elves and dwarves and, in the end, to lay siege to the well–fortified city of Minas Tirith and conquer it, which will put an end to the kingdoms of people.

During the campaign of Light, you also need to complete a series of missions, defeat Saruman and attack Sauron in his immediate lair – to storm the Black Gate. The storyline mostly copies the events from the original trilogy, with the exception of small branches.

Gameplay

Among the main gameplay features of the strategic video game The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth, it is necessary to highlight:

1. In addition to story campaigns, there is also a full-fledged network mode, as well as a global passage format, where step-by-step elements, faction management and real-time battles are combined.
2. There are many states represented, including Mordor, Isengard, Rohan, Gondor, Elves, Dwarves – each has unique buildings and units.
3. During each task, the gamer is obliged to build his own base, extract resources and create troops.
4. Victory in the mission is achieved only by the complete destruction of all enemy buildings that can produce units.
5. The ability to use the power of the ring is unique spells that accumulate for killing opponents.
