Outlast is a computer video game in the horror genre with a first–person view, the events of which unfold in an abandoned psychiatric hospital, where bloodthirsty psychos are rampant. The key feature of the horror is the inability of the main character to fight with opponents – he is forced only to hide and run away.

Plot

The events of the video game tell about the adventures of journalist Miles Upsher, who receives a message from an unknown person from a psychiatric hospital on the edge of the city.

The hero stays in a hospital and hardly gets into it. However, very soon he regretted that he had entered these walls. The hero sees around a lot of corpses of guards, doctors and patients. He also comes across mutated killer prisoners who are chasing the protagonist.

Miles eventually learns that there is a secret laboratory under this hospital, where experiments were conducted on the mentally ill. And these experiments have led to the creation of mutant psychopaths who have made a coup in the hospital and kill everyone who is here.

Gameplay

Outlast at one time became one of the most terrifying horror games in which the main character absolutely has no means and opportunities to fight with opponents. You can kill psychopathic mutants only according to the plot, and before that you will have to endure and die many times.

Among the key gameplay features of the horror movie , it is necessary to highlight:

• the main character has only a video camera with night vision and a notebook in which he can take notes;
• the camera will constantly use up energy (especially in night vision mode), and therefore it is necessary to look for batteries that are scattered around the hospital;
• the presence of numerous holomolovok of various levels of complexity;
• you can't fight – the hero is only able to run away from his pursuers and with the help of stealth mechanics, move unnoticed and hide
