Total War The Third Age (2013) PC

Total War The Third Age is one of the most popular modifications for the Medieval Total War game, which takes players from the familiar Western Medieval Europe to Tolkien's world – to the fictional fantasy world of Middle–earth. Players had the opportunity to create their own history of the Third Era by choosing their favorite faction.

A well-known British studio called Creative Assembly worked on the creation of the project.

Gameplay Features

As for the gameplay, the modification of The Third Age does not bring anything fundamentally new – the main feature is the addition of an absolutely unique setting that gamers could see in the series of popular films "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit".

The game features such factions as:

• Izengrad (have a well-balanced army in terms of military power);
• Rohan (the strongest heavy cavalry in the game is available, but the infantry is inferior to most factions);
• Gondor (well-balanced cavalry and infantry, as well as strong ranger archers);
• Dwarves (the best infantry in the game and powerful siege weapons, but the complete absence of cavalry);
• Mordor (extremely numerous detachments of orcs and powerful monsters, as well as battle trolls);
• Elves (few but incredibly strong units, especially the best archers in the game) and others.

The developers of the mod did not change the engine, and therefore the gameplay is not at all different from the original version.
