Lethe - Episode One (2016) PC

Lethe is a thoughtful horror–survival video game, with a first-person view, in which you have to navigate through a creepy environment, avoid monsters, investigate a mysterious case and solve puzzles.

The game is the debut development of the Greek studio KoukouStudios.

Description

You take on the role of Robert Russell, a young man who is a journalist with an idealistic view of the world. The main character decides to start his career with an article about a mysterious incident that occurred at the beginning of the twentieth century, in a pharmaceutical institution located on a lonely island far from civilization. Finding insufficient information in the archives, the protagonist decides to learn more about the incident by visiting this place. After his arrival, he learns that the disaster has left a serious mark on this place, and the investigation is not an easy task, due to hostile, unnatural creatures.

Gameplay

Upon arrival, Robert comes into contact with an unknown substance that allows him to acquire certain telekinetic abilities. In combination with the natural laws of physics, they are the only method of dealing with obstacles and dangers. For example, we light up the darkness, carrying a cardboard box set on fire in front of us, and throw barrels and sharp objects at enemies. Nevertheless, open combat is necessary when the player has no other choice, because Lethe puts emphasis on a hidden playful style and solving puzzles.
