Syndrome is a science fiction video game in the genre of horror–survival in the first person, the events of which take place on a space station, after a mysterious incident that resulted in the mutation of the ship's crew.

The game was developed by the independent studio Camel 101.

Description

The plot of the game is not too original. The action takes place on a space station, where the protagonist wakes up from a long cryogenic sleep. He quickly discovers that some tragic and inexplicable events have occurred at the station. As a result, part of the crew is dead, and the rest have turned into bloodthirsty monsters. Our goal is to find out the cause of this tragedy.

Gameplay

With a rather unoriginal plot, the developers of Camel 101 focused on aspects such as the mechanics of the game, the atmosphere and the gaming ability. Syndrome is a kind of return to the roots of the horror–survival genre, which focuses not on the fast-paced action, but on the claustrophobic atmosphere and the ubiquitous sense of danger. The game world is presented in the first person, and the action is mainly focused on exploring the space station, finding clues and solving logical puzzles that allow us to gradually master the background of the entire plot.

During the game, the aforementioned monsters lie in wait for us, although direct combat should be avoided.

The reason for this is the fact that weapons and ammunition are very limited, which forces us to carefully manage these resources. The key to success is most often avoiding enemies, as well as identifying their strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to gain an advantage in a few seconds and escape.
