Clannad (2008) PC
Clannad is a video game, visual novel developed by Key and published by Visual Art for PC in Japan in 2004.
Plot
The game is divided into two parts:
- "School life".
- "After the story."
In School life, the story will revolve around a high school student – Tomoya Okazaki. His mother died in a car accident, and his father drank and lost all his money gambling because of it. The main character was outraged by his life, but decided to try himself in battles where he won money. But after he got a shoulder injury, because of which he could not continue to participate in fights.
Tomoya has since met his father, who has been forcing him to become a criminal for a while. While walking around the school, Tomoya saw a girl named Nagisa. He starts talking to her and soon becomes friends with her. He finds out that she is sick, sad and lonely because her friends have gone to other cities.
Gameplay
Like many visual novels, the gameplay revolves around moral decision-making and dialogue options that influence a non-linear branching narrative. The game has different storylines, the player can choose them, which leads to many different alternative endings. School Life has five main chapters, as well as several additional small scenarios, with more than a dozen possible endings.
When the user completes the character's scenario, he gets a ball of light.
When eight of these lights are received, the second story of the game, After Story, will become available. The arcade game "After the Story" continues from the place where the Nagisa storyline was built, and it also has several endings.
