"Gothic – Anthology" is a collection of three role-playing games published in the period from 2004 to 2010, as well as three supplements (to the third and fourth parts). The original second "Gothic" is not included here. Perhaps because her addon is recognized as more perfect and received ratings higher than the original.

But this famous and popular series did not end its existence. There was a "divorce and maiden name". One series inherited the proud name "Gothic", and the other became known as "Risen".

Gothic

In the kingdom of Myrtana, there is a barrier dividing it into two parts. One is dominated by convicts mining ore, and the other is ruled by a monarch who needs minerals to make weapons to fight the orcs. The main character is pushed into the barrier so that he delivers a letter to the magicians who are inside. The plot, despite multiple missions and ramifications, is almost linear.

Gothic 2: Night of the Raven

This is the official addition to the second part of "Gothic". He brought to the original game:

1. Three new factions (pirates, bandits, Water Circle magicians).
2. Ancient manuscripts will help the main character become even stronger.
3. A huge Yarkendar area appeared, which increased the territory of the game by 30%.
4. A new storyline.
5. Additional weapons, armor, and spells.
6. A huge number of new monsters.

And besides, the graphics have improved, the skill system has been redesigned, the combat system has become more complicated.

Gothic 3

The plot of this game logically continues the end of the second part, when the main character and his friends sail to the Midland mainland, which is divided into three parts. The game contains six factions:

1. Orcs.
2. The rebels.
3. Assassins.
4. The Nordmars.
5. The wanderers.
6. Nomads.

The first three are the main ones, the rest are secondary. The third part involves the development of the plot from the actions of the player, and also gives a lot of characters, monsters and weapons.

Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods

This addition does not depend on the plot of the main branch of the games "Gothic". The events take place in Mirtan, two years after the end of the third part. The main character must save this kingdom again.

Arcania: Gothic 4

This is an offshoot from the main storyline. The events take place 10 years after the third "Gothic". The main character embarks on the path of revenge after the murder of the bride. As the game progresses, he turns from a simple shepherd into a liberator of his land from enemies.
