Risen is the spiritual heir of the Gothic role–playing game series, developed and published by Piranha Bytes. The game has adopted from the Gothic the general style, combat system, pumping and many other elements. New in Risen is only the game world and the plot.

Old game in a new shell

After the launch, Risen begins to resemble a mixture of the first and second Gothic. The main character again has no name, but this time he is not a prisoner, but an illegal passenger on the ship. After the attack of the titan, the ship crashes, as a result of which our hero is thrown ashore.

From this moment, the journey in the game world begins. The pumping system and interaction with other characters are completely licked off from previous Piranha Bytes projects, so many players will not have any special difficulties with mastering the new virtual world.

There are 3 factions to choose from, which you can join (but only one per pass). The game boasts interesting and relatively complex quests that do not slide into the banal bring, serve or kill. Most tasks have several solutions that may partially affect the further passage.

The whole plot is divided into chapters, there are 4 of them in total. With each new chapter, new tasks will appear, monsters will be reborn and previously inaccessible places will open. Therefore, it makes sense to re-explore the world with each new chapter.

Advantages of the game:

• a great role-playing system in which you will not be able to pump literally everything. You will have to choose extremely useful and necessary skills;
• beautiful graphics and character animation;
• fascinating plot, especially in the first chapters;
• constant references to other games of the company.
