Homefront is a computer video game in the shooter genre, telling about the sudden invasion of North Korean forces into the United States. The game was developed by Kaos Studios in collaboration with Digital Extremes.

Plot

In 2025, a serious financial crisis occurred in the United States, which led to the fall of the dollar. At the same time, North Korea significantly strengthened its financial, political and military position, after which it launched a powerful nuclear strike on the West of the United States. A few days later, a large-scale offensive began, which led to the complete defeat of the US army.

The country was in ruins, but its inhabitants, who were not going to give up, began to wage a guerrilla war. The main character is a former pilot who joined the resistance forces. The guerrillas have set themselves the task of liberating the city of San Francisco, and the fulfillment of this goal will be the beginning of a victorious march.

Gameplay

Homefront is a first–person shooter set in San Francisco. The game world is represented by corridor locations with save points and a large number of enemies inferior in strength to the main character. The key features of the gameplay can be considered:

• the presence of a large number of colorful cinematic videos;
• the ability to play online in large-scale battles at sea and on land;
• the ability to use vehicles in battle;
• realistic tasks, in the development of which the experience of real military was used in order to give guerrilla warfare more credibility.

Graphics
