Get Even is a game that came out in some monstrous marketing torments. At first, the project's advertisers were unlucky enough to "predict" a terrorist attack in the London subway by showing similar events in their trailer, and then a strange story about a connection with a social action of Moscow guys stuck to Get Even, as part of which they put a tied-up girl in front of a video camera in some garage and launched a live broadcast. Both circumstances, not being directly related to the game, had a monstrous impact on the opinion of the community, which initially waited for the project with a negative connotation.

Virtual memories

Get Even is a construction game assembled from all the popular trends in the gaming industry today. There are four main gameplay elements here:

1. Shooter.
2. Horror.
3. Walking simulator.
4. Stealth.

And it's really like three different games. The thing is, Get Even changes the rhythm perfectly. According to the plot, we are trying to remember our past through simulation in VR glasses, and therefore the hero's imagination is complemented by a projection from virtual reality. All this gives out phenomenal pictures. Here we are, as secretly as possible, wandering around some kind of demonic hospital, here we solve a crime, and here we go out to a shootout. The ragged pace of the narrative here is not at all similar to that adopted in games – and looks more like TV series. The game seems to be divided into small segments, each of which has a beginning, development and catharsis, and the gameplay changes depending on the narrative. Given the fact that the story itself in Get Even was a great success, such an approach does not let you get bored.

And it's also a very memorable game. For all its technological modesty, Get Even stretches itself at the expense of design. Everything here – from the levels to the characters – is drawn with some kind of zest, which is why the game is a delight on an aesthetic level. At the same time, it cannot be said that Get Even is an outstanding game. The shooter failed here, the graphics are from the past gene, and the beginning of the game is extremely tedious. However, connoisseurs of good plots and atmos
