Outlast 2 is a continuation of the acclaimed horror game Outlast, developed by Red Barrels, as well as the first part. The game has retained all the key features of its predecessor, supplementing them with a number of innovations, which allowed it to maintain the status of one of the most atmospheric horror films in the gaming industry.

Plot

This time, the main character is a certain journalist who is investigating rumors about brutally murdered pregnant women that have stirred up America.

The main character, whose name is Blake Langermann, together with his wife goes on the trail of a maniac. The investigation leads them to a small village located in Arizona. On the way to this place, the helicopter in which the heroes were flying crashes, after which a real nightmare begins.

This village is dominated by a crazy preacher who considers the main character to be a servant of the Devil, and the crazy local population begins hunting Blake.

Gameplay

The game has practically no differences from the previous parts. Among its features are the following:

• there is no way to defend yourself in open combat;
• complete absence of weapons;
• opponents can be killed only within the framework of the plot by fulfilling all the necessary requirements;
• the main character shoots all the events on a camera that has a night vision mode;
• for the camera to work, you need to constantly look for batteries.

During the passage, the player must avoid maniacs and murderers, hiding in shelters and using his cunning to get out of trouble alive. The game is replete with riddles and puzzles, which will delight fans of brainwashing.

Graphics

The visual range and overall atmosphere of the game are made at a high level. The player is presented with a gloomy and really frightening terrain, every detail of which is drawn to the smallest detail, sometimes making him literally freeze in horror.
