Events unfold during the early years of the war between the USSR and Germany. The latter country conducts active offensives and wins one victory after another. The Red Army continues to retreat with heavy losses. However, all is not yet lost. A very powerful guerrilla movement is emerging in the occupied territories, and the main character becomes one of the leaders of the resistance units. His task is to inflict as much damage on the enemy's rear as possible and make it easier for the regular troops to conduct combat operations.
