The main character is the famous detective Alan Sharp, who specializes in particularly difficult cases, and in those where mystical details are involved. After the death of his lover, the protagonist goes into the shadows for a long time, but returns to cases after he learns of the murder of a child and of his parents' disappearance without a trace.

To investigate this incident, Alan goes to the small town of Beggers Hole, where the Regan family lived. Before the detective arises difficult task, because there is no direct evidence and will have to collect all the details, and then the hero will have to face this evil in the flesh.
