Plot

The history of the city of Bright Falls is shrouded in numerous legends and myths. There is a legend that some mysterious intelligent entity lives at the bottom of Lake Koldron, which feeds on the energy of creative personalities.

A few decades before the development of the storyline, one of the famous writers lost his wife next to this lake. Everyone said that she had drowned, but the woman was an excellent swimmer. After a while, the writer disappears without a trace, and a small island with their house sinks to the bottom of the lake. The authorities blamed everything on the impact of a small underwater volcano.

Many years later, Alan Wake arrives in the city with his wife. The hero is experiencing a creative crisis and is trying to find his inspiration in this city. One day Alan suffers the same fate as the missing writer years earlier – his wife disappears, and the hero learns about the existence of some mysterious entity.

Gameplay

Alan Wake is not just another shooter where you need to stupidly shoot at all enemies in your path and thereby move along the storyline. Firearms here are not capable of destroying the enemy – Alan's main weapon will be light.

Among the key gameplay features of horror, it is necessary to highlight:

• the events of the game unfold at different times of the day – during the day and at night (in the first, the player can explore the city, communicate with the inhabitants, and at night he needs to solve riddles, fight monsters);
