In 1941, Nazi Germany began to implement its ingenious Barbarossa plan. According to him, the huge army of the Wehrmacht had to seize the territory of the Soviet Union in the shortest possible time and deprive it of the opportunity to fight effectively.

At the first stage, the Germans managed to effectively implement their plan, but with the onset of winter, the situation changed dramatically. The Red Army managed to launch a counteroffensive and reverse the course of action. As a result, the Wehrmacht forces suffered defeats and were forced to go on the defensive from the attack, which also failed and led to a crushing defeat in World War II.
