Age of Empires 1

Age of Empires 1 is a computer video game in the genre of real–time strategy, which at one time gained huge popularity and marked the beginning of the famous series of the same name. The player could choose from a variety of available civilizations and lead her to victory over the rest through conquest and competent diplomacy.

An American studio called Ensemble Studios worked on the creation of the video game.

Gameplay Features

There are four single-player campaigns in the game: The Rise of Egypt, the Glory of Greece, the Voice of Babylon, the Empire of the Rising Sun Yamato. The first campaign is essentially a training one and most of the tasks in it are very simple. The rest of the campaigns have scenarios that are quite difficult to execute.

A total of sixteen civilizations are available in the game, which are divided into five architectural styles that explain their game appearance, namely:

1. Asia (Yamato, Chan, Joseon).
2. Babylon (Babylon, Hittites, Persia).
3. Egypt (Assyria, Egypt, Sumer).
4. Greece (Minoans, Greece, Phoenicia).
5. Rome (Carthage, Rome, Macedonia, Palmyra).

Every civilization begins to develop from the Stone Age, but by exploring new technologies and expanding its influence, it can move into the age of agriculture, the Bronze Age, and then into the Iron Age.

The game has four types of resources needed for the construction, production and maintenance of units:

• food (needed for the maintenance of builders and troops);
• wood (necessary for the construction of structures);
• stone (also required for construction);
• gold (necessary for hiring and maintaining troops, as well as for construction).

The goal of the game is to defeat all opponents by destroying his troops and destroying buildings. There is also diplomacy, which allows us to conclude trade agreements and military alliances. In addition to the classic single-player mode, there is also a multiplayer
