Portal 2 is a worthy continuation of a three–dimensional puzzle based on the Source engine.

The human intellect against the one created by him

As a result of experiments with portals in space, an AI-endowed supercomputer seized the laboratory and began to play with Chess, who had just woken up from suspended animation. She has only a portal gun, the first shot of which creates an entrance to the unknown, and the second indicates the exit point of the object. Through such gaps in space, the main character must move her own body, game objects, like boxes, and direct laser beams to certain points.

Novelties of the series

The physics of space in the laboratory complex allows objects to interact. The most interesting innovation of the game are gels. They pour and drip from the pipes, and pouring this composition over the surface, it can be given unique properties:

• the pushing gel will speed up the player;
• repulsive gel – will make the protagonist fly high;
• transforming gel – makes it possible to create portals virtually anywhere.

A couple more elements have been added in the sequel. The transport funnel gives the heroine the opportunity to travel through the air, moving along spiral energy lines. They are also affected by teleports. Dense bridges of light energy – their use allows you to close from automatic turrets, catch / block the path of flying objects and move Chess. Accelerating springs are necessary to make high and long jumps to a certain place.

Sometimes you have to sort through a lot of options, what you need to do to get into the next room, and even dissuade yourself from incredible ways to solve the problem. And the solution is usually the simplest.

Playing with a friend

Cooperative play has little to do with single player. The players will be two robots created by AI. They were sent outside the landfill, to the bunker, for some valuable information. The essence of the game remains the same, the puzzles have not become more sophisticated, but they are designed to solve them together. The most difficult thing in the cooperative mode is the coordination of robot actions. If it is possible to find the disadvantages of the game, it is a short plot and the lack of Hollywood special effects.
