Prison Architect [update11f] (2015) PC

Prison Architect is an economic simulator with a chief executive in the person of a gamer. He should skillfully manage the available resources, replenish them in time in exchange for others in order to create the architecture of the prison, establish its policy, internal regulations and ensure that prisoners adhere to all the rules. Prisoners can also play. The goal of this game is to escape from a prison built by other gamers.

Prison Manager

A significant part of the game time will be spent on designing all aspects of such a remote place. At first, the director himself will have to set an example to the workers in the construction of four walls around the correctional facility. After their construction, things are not so rosy:

• construction crews are busy summing up communications;
• there are not enough resources, and their delivery takes time;
• funds for hiring new workers are not always enough;
• the government is starting to bring prisoners to the unfinished facility.

Here, design errors can also affect: then the prisoners will be able to contact the builders, then the water pipe will have to be put through a finished wall or a cemented floor.

After launching the work of the institution, due attention should be paid to the mood of workers and prisoners, take care of their own office, food, paying bills, the required number of cells and many other aspects, including hiring cleaners and gardeners.

Problems of the local population

Prisoners are also people, and they need sleep, food, and a shower like anyone else. In order for those who came out from behind its walls not to make gloomy legends about the prison, they will have to take care of other equally important aspects of the lives of people brought for re-education, and not just serving time. To meet their needs, they need walking areas, a library, a miniature sports ground, and rooms for visiting… And everything requires considerable expenses.

Economy

The state takes part of the costs, but this is only a percentage of the required amount. Prisoners are not lost personalities. All of them were at large by someone, and in prison everyone can find an occupation that will bring income to the manager of the institution (it's not for nothing that the economy inside the United States is built on this).
