Renoir is a platformer designed in the form of a comic book in black and white. He will tell you about the most important case of Detective James by the name of Raynor. After a violent death, he returns to this world in the form of a ghost to solve the mystery of his own murder. Investigating the sudden and strange death of a local official, the detective himself becomes a victim. Being immortal is not so easy: the spirit is burned out by a bright light in an instant, going into its own world, because the detective will have to avoid light sources and work only at night.

Gameplay

The game is made in the good traditions of Hollywood noir dramas: endless rains, night, fog, irresponsible policemen, corrupt elite, cool weather, black and white picture, longing and crime and the desire to quickly find out the secret.

Returning to the manifest world, James has acquired the ability to control other ghosts that he will meet.  They are distinguished by the absence of hats and an indifferent attitude to everything. The phantoms do not actually move, waiting for the hero to force them to perform the action required by him (press a button, move an object, activate a lever) without the risk of burning under a powerful stream of photons. By programming ghosts, they can be made to work in tandem in order to turn off light sources and move on.

Multi-storey puzzles

The tasks in Renoir are simple: turn off the lanterns, extinguish the lamps and light bulbs, contribute to the disappearance of the light from the door or window. All programmed phantoms do this. The hero himself does not risk returning to the other world until he finds out what the official did there, so that the detective searching for his killers was sent to the grave.

Most of the tasks are solved from the first call, even when the ghosts work in threes on several floors, and they obey the controls, which is not always the case. If a ghost can sometimes master the lever from the 3rd time, then it is necessary to force him to go down the stairs almost with a plea. And when you control a pair of phantoms at the same time, the task does not seem to be solvable at all. And it's not always easy to identify an active hero, because he barely has a dim glow and constantly mumbles something under his nose.

Despite the dull atmosphere, unresponsive management and monotonous gameplay, the thirst to learn the innermost and get satisfaction from the solved problem w
