Okhlos (2016) PC

Okhlos is a 16–bit classic in retro style, enriched with action and roguelike elements, in which you confront the gods of Olympus, leading crowds of angry ancient Greeks.

The game was created by two employees of the Coffee Powered Machine studio, an independent Argentine team.

Description

You take on the role of an unnamed Greek philosopher who raises a rebellion against the Olympian gods, after the destruction of the Athenian Philosophical School. As the leader of the crowd, your task is to gather your compatriots together, demolish buildings, hire colleagues and eventually destroy the gods and establish an ochlocracy in Greece.

Gameplay

The events of Okhlos unfold in eight Greek cities, which are enriched with ancient myths waiting for you at every turn. You must defeat the twelve gods of Olympus and various mythological creatures such as giants, cyclopes or gorgons.

Although the main goal is crowd control, players can also control a single philosopher character capable of gathering people and leading them to battle. A wide range of thinkers have been included, and each of them has unique abilities. When the main character dies, the player assumes the role of another philosopher from the crowd. However, when they are no longer among humans, the player will eventually fail.
