Ash of Gods: Redemption (2018) PC

Ash of Gods: Redemption is a tactical RPG with elements of card games inspired by The Banner Saga series and the Japanese role—playing game Fire Emblem.

It is the first project of the independent studio Aurum Dust.

Description

The universe is inspired by medieval Europe, whose inhabitants have been surrounded by peace and quiet for 700 years. However, now humanity must face the appearance of an alien race known as the Reapers. Only a handful of brave souls can prevent the death of humanity. In various circumstances, they join an expedition seeking to put an end to this threat.

Gameplay

A team of characters travels the world, talking to strangers and completing missions. For completing tasks, the player receives points that allow him to develop the abilities of units, as well as move the story forward.

The creators wanted their fantasy world to be realistic, and they achieved this by focusing on situations that require the player to make a difficult decision. Your choice can affect both the course of history and the fate of individual characters. Even the main characters are vulnerable, and when they die, the game doesn't end.

The fighting takes place on tactical maps, using a typical turn-based RPG system. Victory is achieved by using adequate tactics and taking into account the abilities of both your team and the enemy.

Among the key features of the game are:

• the action takes place in the world created by the writer Sergei Malitsky in his book "Ashes of the Gods";
• offers two-dimensional visual effects inspired by the creations of Ralph Bakshi;
• although the players received hand-drawn graphics with the use of bright colors, the creators used a style corresponding to the gloomy atmosphere of the game world;
