The Banner Saga is a computer video game that combines elements of RPG, adventure quest and strategy. The events of the game are based on the Scandinavian legends about the end of the world. An independent studio called Stoic worked on the creation of the project.

Plot

The main characters of the game are the brave inhabitants of the Scandinavian islands – Vikings. For many years they lived in their native land, but when it came time for eternal frosts, people realized that it was time for the end of the world and it was time for them to find another home.

You are the head of a small clan and it is you who must lead it on this dangerous journey. On the way, the characters will meet allies who also want to save their lives. But along with them there will be enemies, as well as strange creatures with horns that came along with the end of the world.

Gameplay

The Banner Saga gameplay differs in many ways from strategic video games and has the following features:

• the user directly influences the course of the narrative and the fate of key characters and, of course, the endings depend on his decisions;
• the ability to upgrade your abilities, as well as the skills of your clan members;
• during the journey, it is necessary to take care of the safety of the tribe, the availability of food, warm shelter, etc. – it depends on whether your subordinates will survive;
• decision-making in dialogues plays no less a role than the fate in battles;
• a unique atmosphere of Scandinavian legends.

Graphics

The Banner Saga is not a multimillion–dollar project, but only a small game from a young studio. It cannot boast of a revolutionary level of graphics.
