Tyranny: Overlord Edition (2016) PC

An unusual role-playing game from the developers of Obsidian Entertainment immediately after its release became a noticeable phenomenon of the entire gaming industry. The RPG genre has been reinterpreted and reworked in an original way, in close cooperation with Paradox Studio. The finished project is not like any analog.

Graphics and gameplay features

According to the plot, in the mythical world, a magician named Kairos seized power over almost all regions. The last islands of independence must be suppressed in order to establish a completely totalitarian system. The main character is chosen as the very general who will have to solve the task. The key features of graphics and gameplay are:

1. Friendship and confrontation not only with enemies, but also with allies, seriously affect the effectiveness of the assigned missions.
2. As you progress, you need to find scrolls with magic spells and create new runes. There is a system of knowledge accumulation.
3. Sorcery damage is separated from strength.
4. Combat detachments of up to 4 people. Standard equipment: magician, ram-type warrior, healer, main character.
5. You can only play for a person, the race does not choose.
6. The original skill builder. Belong to other members of the squad, can be used without mastering.
7. Advanced combat system, similar to the one used in Dragon Age.
8. Unique combat superstrikes.

In general, the plot differs from similar projects by its wide branching. A lot of characters, a well-thought-out political and military component. The key feature is the confrontation of good and evil, with the total superiority of the latter. The general atmosphere is similar to some sinister and gloomy analogue of the Ancient world. The game shows only a small part of a huge continent, so, most likely, many more projects will be released on it. Which is good news.

Reviews in the gaming press

Tyranny + 2 DLC has excellent ratings and reviews on all game resources and in the thematic press. On average, this is 9/10 points. Among the strengths of the project are noted: high-quality graphics, excellent voice acting, original gameplay, magical, but with many elements of reality atmosphere.
