Call of Duty (2003) PC

Call of Duty is the first game in the series, which has become one of the most popular shooters of our time on PCs and consoles. Unlike similar shooting games, the main character will be able to look at the war through the eyes of British and Soviet soldiers.

Gameplay

The gameplay consists of a single-player campaign and a network mode. In the singleplayer, we have to take turns playing for:

• American paratrooper – 6 missions;
• british young soldier – 8 tasks;
• an experienced Red Army soldier – 9 missions.

The protagonists have access to a large arsenal of weapons from the middle of the last century, but more than two samples of rifles, a pistol and a bunch of a dozen grenades cannot be carried. Almost all guns have an alternative firing mode: single shots, a burst or a grenade launcher under the barrel. Already in the first part, the developers allowed gamers to ride a military car as a shooter in the back, shoot down a couple of single-seat bombers and drive a tank.

The Dead World

Opponents, as soon as the main character looks out of the trench or appears on the horizon, devote all attention to him. In addition to enemies, the environment does not react in any way to what is happening around. Trees do not move from gusts of wind and do not react to direct bomb hits, barrels are not shot through even with a sniper rifle, and boxes turn into splinters only on holidays.

The open world is just an illusion. Mine warning signs posted everywhere restrict freedom of movement. The splashing shader water, reddening with blood, brightens up the picture a little.

Corporate game

Network mode events take place on recycled maps from the single-player campaign. The following game schemes are available:

• classic deathmatch;
• deathmatch, when the killed player is revived not immediately, but after the time interval specified in the settings;
