Battlefield 2 (2005) PC

The most popular network shooter for PC in 2005. When the game appeared, the famous Counter-Strike was already outdated, and fans of virtual warfare wanted something large-scale. Battlefield 2 continued the success of previous projects in the series, offering players large maps, the possibility of specialization of fighters, realistic control of different types of equipment and much more.

Gameplay

The shooter has a single-player campaign with three difficulty modes, where 15 bots act as teammates. However, the developers' idea is revealed most vividly in the multiplayer mode, where 64 people are simultaneously involved. You can fight on the side of one of three organizations: the US Marine Corps, the Middle East Coalition and the People's Liberation Army of China. Naturally, fights occur between two of the three factions.

Commander

Depending on the rating of the players, the commander-in-chief is chosen among them, as well as the squad commanders. The duties of the commander include:

• scanning the terrain and sending the coordinates of the enemy's location to subordinates;
• transport landing at a given point;
• launching drones for reconnaissance;
• artillery strike guidance;
• encouraging or condemning the actions of detachments.

Specialization

A soldier can have abilities of one of seven classes: a sniper, a grenade launcher, a support fighter, a special forces soldier, a stormtrooper, a technician, a medic. You can choose a class before the start of the battle, or after the death of a fighter before his respawn. Also, the specialization will change if you pick up the weapons of a murdered comrade of another class.
