Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse. Episode One & Two (2013-2014) PC | RePack by R.G. Mechanics
«Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse. Episode One & Two" is a game in which several genres are mixed: detective, adventure, puzzle and object search. It consists of two episodes (parts), published with an interval of five months. Naturally, it is much more interesting to play with a completed series on hand and having the opportunity to see the logical end than to go through half and then languish in months of waiting, wondering if the developer and publisher will deign to finish the job they started.
Plot and characters
At the exhibition of paintings, a painting is stolen with robbery and the murder of a man who tried to stop the criminal. The strangeness lies in the fact that the canvas has no great historical and cultural value. Why exactly did this work of a little-known artist attract intruders? The priest talks about the damnation of the painting. But what is the true meaning of the crime will become clear only after passing both episodes of the game, during which there will be chases, group shootouts of bandits and law enforcement detachments with automatic weapons. But the gamer will not be able to participate in these adrenaline and dangerous scenes, because his task is to conduct an investigation by the hands of a charming journalist and her friend, an employee of the company that insured the stolen painting.
Intrigues of the game
The game is low-budget, and it is visible to the naked eye even to a novice gamer:
- A limited number of characters.
- Primitive animation.
- Two-dimensional graphics.
- "Flat" screensavers.
- The absence of people on the streets.
- Primitive dialogues.
Therefore , the developers have tried to compensate for these flaws with the following elements:
- The sexuality of a journalist.
- The amorous intrigue of the "investigators"-amateurs – whether they will have love.
- Simple, but diverse puzzles (such as puzzles, object search, etc.).
- Binding to real events, paintings, cities, people.
And, most likely, the authors of the game managed to squeeze out relatively good reviews from expe
