The Wolf Among Us: Episode 1-5 (2013) PC | RePack by R.G. Mechanics
The Wolf Among Us: Episode 1-5 is a project that allowed us to look at Telltale Games from a different angle. After leaving the yoke of well-known licenses, the company undertook to make an interactive series based on its favorite comic book – and unexpectedly managed to create a unique and intelligent noir that is interesting to everyone. But, alas, it did not work out to keep the bar until the fifth series.
And the whole of Hollywood is not enough
The Wolf Among Us: Episode 1-5 is not just another game licensed from Telltale. Simply because this license turned out to be little-known (Fables comics) and interesting rather by Telltale itself. And also, because the game affects the children's emotions of each of us, thereby allowing developers to reach the maximum mass audience.
According to the plot of Fables, our favorite fairy tale characters continue to live in the real world, in the guise of ordinary people. There are, however, several conditions – in order to maintain the "ordinariness" of their kind, they constantly have to buy a special potion subject to inflation, and the "fabulous" background has not gone anywhere. Snow White is a politician who does not have the opportunity to tarnish his reputation. The monster and the beauty logically found problems in living together. The little mermaid could not adapt and became a stripper. And somewhere in the middle of it all we are.
The problem with the game is that, having created a smart, unhurried and fuel-oil noir, Telltale for some reason break it all for the sake of a ridiculous action by the end. As part of the season , it looks something like this:
- The Faith episode is a great introduction with a cool detective.
- Episode Smoke and Mirrors ("Smoke and mirrors") – increased tension, the development of noir, hanging "guns".
- Episode A Crooked Mile ("Crooked trail") – an unexpected disclosure of all the cards, as they say, "head-on".
- Episode In Sheep's Clothing ("In sheep's clothing") – turning a detective into an action movie.
- Episode Cry Wolf ("Cry wolf") – the transformation of an action movie into a superhero comic.
A touching life story suddenly turns into a superhero, and all problems are solved in the simplest of ways – the banal brute force of the protagonist. As a result, from the noir detective The Wolf Among Us: Episode 1-5 turns into something like Spider-Man, which serious
