Syrian Warfare
Syrian Warfare is a real-time strategy video game set during the war in Syria, where the FSA has attempted to overthrow the regime of Bashar al-Assad.
Review
The story campaign shows two timelines. The first focuses on events that took place in 2012, when the FSA attacked the city of Aleppo. The second chapter shifts to 2015-2016, a period in which Syrian government forces were simultaneously attacked by both the FSA and ISIS. At this point, the current president of the state asked for help from the Russian Federation, which helped the current regime to hold out.
Overall, the storyline supports the position of the Syrian and Russian authorities. The actions of the FSA and ISIS are harshly condemned, as is the position of foreign countries.
It is noteworthy that in the majority of story missions it is the FSA, and only in rare cases there are tasks where it is necessary to control the Russian forces.
Gameplay
Among the main features of Syrian Warfare strategy gameplay is worth noting:
- In addition to the aforementioned factions, forces such as the al-Nusra Front fighters and the Russian Marines will also be involved in the conflict.
- There are no base building and resource extraction mechanics - everything is focused solely on combat.
- At the end of each mission the player can improve his soldiers and equipment, increasing their characteristics.
- Instead of the classic health scale, vehicles have a division into sectors that fail, but if a unit is not completely destroyed, they can be repaired.
- Users can actively use buildings as shelters - each has its own strength reserve and provides a certain level of protection from enemy fire.
