The Pale Beyond

The Pale Beyond is a visual novel with survival simulation elements, the plot of which revolves around man's exploration of the Arctic Circle. 

Review

The backstory tells the story of the ship Viscount, which sailed far north to discover new lands. Five years have passed since then and there has been no news of the ship, hence the expedition ended unsuccessfully. 

Then the main events begin. A new expedition with the ship Temperance, of which the protagonist is the captain, sets out on a voyage. He faces the difficult task of going the way of the Viscount and finding out the cause of the deaths of the members of the first team. 

Gameplay

Among the key gameplay chips of the survival simulator The Pale Beyond is required to highlight:

1. The unique atmosphere in which the first explorers of the Arctic Circle found themselves.
2. Each team member is a unique character with his own character and it needs to be taken into account.
3. It is necessary to properly distribute responsibilities between the team.
4. Requires a particularly careful approach to planning the consumption of supplies, because they are not endless, and ahead of a long journey.
5. In the course of the narrative the player will regularly solve difficult dilemmas and in many of them he even has to sacrifice crew members.
6. Absolutely every action and decision has consequences, which ultimately affect the end of the story and the success of the expedition.
