Blasphemous

Blasphemous is an action-platformer with beautiful retro graphics and two-dimensional models that features complex gameplay, a rich setting, and a story.

Review

Events take place in a dark fantasy universe called Custodia. Here the inhabitants are extremely devout and pray every day to a certain great power, dubbed the Miracle. However, it can bring both happiness and misery.

The protagonist is the last representative of the ancient order of the Brotherhood of Silent Sorrow, a certain Penitent. Like all representatives of his brotherhood, the protagonist wears a huge helmet with a wire that resembles a crown of thorns, and he has taken a vow of silence. After his awakening, the Penitent was given the important mission of finding a sacred relic called the Cradle of Sorrow. It can be used to deliver the world from suffering and all of humanity's sins will be forgiven.

Gameplay

Among the main gameplay features of the retro action Blasphemous should be noted:

1. The main armament of the protagonist is a large long sword.
2. In addition to striking, you need to learn how to dodge and parry attacks in time.
3. Complex gameplay and action, which makes the project similar to the famous Dark Souls series. 
4. You can restore the health of your character only in certain points or with special elixirs, but their number is strictly limited.
5. When a character dies, all of his health points are restored and he is reborn, but all enemies also appear again, unless you count the bosses he killed earlier.
6. In the course of the narrative it is allowed to upgrade the abilities of the Persian, which increases his combat efficiency.
