This time the protagonist learns from the news that a historic house in the town of Salem, Massachusetts, has been subjected to arson. This cultural landmark was notable because, according to local accounts, it was haunted by incidents surrounding the witch trials centuries ago.

When the main character arrives in Salem, she soon realizes that some really scary things are going on around her, which makes the girl reconsider her views on the world. She literally encounters ghosts and must unravel the mystery that hides the descendants of those people who in the distant past arranged the trial of the Salem witches.
