Wargame: European Escalation is a real–time strategy video game set during the Cold War, which turned into a full-fledged military conflict that unfolded around the globe.

Review

In total, there are 4 interesting story campaigns in Wargame: European Escalation:

1. Brother to brother – 1975. It tells about the civil war between Germany and the GDR, which announce the beginning of hostilities because of a military man who killed two enemy border guards.
2. Dombrowski's Mazurka – 1981. The actions are transferred to Poland, where an uprising breaks out due to social unrest and the USSR troops are sent to suppress it, which will then involve Czechoslovakia.
3. An experienced shooter – 1983. The Americans in NATO are planning to conduct large-scale exercises, but the USSR perceives this as preparation for war and declares it the first, after which the Third World War begins.
4. Wastelands – 1984. The war between the NATO and Warsaw Pact countries is nearing its end, but a Soviet soldier declares a personal vendetta and decides to avenge the death of his loved ones.

Gameplay

Among the main gameplay features of the Wargame strategy: European Escalation, it is necessary to note:

1. The narrative is divided into single missions in which you cannot build a base and units, but instead troops can be called for special reinforcement points, however, they are limited.
2. There are about 300 unique units, including a variety of infantry and military equipment.
3. Locations are mostly interactive and can be affected during battles, for example, after an artillery strike, craters remain and a shell can completely destroy a building.
4. At the beginning of the campaign, only a basic set of weak units is available to the gamer, but as he successfully completes, he receives command stars for which stronger combat units can be unlocked.
5. Each unit has characteristics – the infantry has health, morale, and so on, and the equipment has different armor, caliber and power of the gun.
