Europa Universalis IV: Common Sense [v1.12.2] (2015) PC

Europa Universalis IV is a popular computer game made in the genre of global strategy, developed by talented guys from Paradox Interactive. The announcement of the game took place back in 2012, and the game itself was first released at the end of the summer of 2013.  This is already the fifth part of the game in the presented series, if you do not take addons into account.

In this part, the graphics were noticeably worked out, and the map of the game world itself became more similar to the one that was presented for Crusader Kings 2. Especially impatient fans of the series could track the publication of diaries from developers every week, thanks to which they managed to learn a lot of useful information, in particular data on specific countries and states.

General information

The plot of the game originates in the Late Middle Ages and continues until the beginning of the Napoleonic Wars. The player can choose his own state for himself, taking over the reins of government of the entire nation. Thus, the beginning of the game is November 11, 1444, and the very last day is the beginning of the new year 1821. You can switch between the presented dates, as in the previous parts of the series. The player is engaged in conducting diplomatic affairs of the state, religious issues (each religion has its own unique system), trade, research and development of new technologies, as well as the discovery of new continents. You can be one of the first who dare to reach the shores of America, Africa and even Australia. 

Each country has its own unique features, national ideas, missions and assignments. The state also has its own dynasty of rulers. Original historical incidents and a peculiar system of sequential dynamic events turn this game into a rich adventure. There is no definite goal here – the player forms it for himself directly.

What changes have been made in the gameplay?

1. The spies disappeared, as well as the technique of managing them, as they significantly worsened the balance in the game. Some of their capabilities were transferred to the functionality of diplomats.
2. The system of fractions has been redesigned.
3. Big changes have also affected trading manipulations.
4. Magistrates, like spies, were eliminated, and in their place came an updated system for the development of the country.
