American McGee's Alice is a computer video game in the genre of action adventure with a third–person view, the main character of which is the character Alice from the works of Lewis Carroll. The plot of the action includes a story written in the books "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice through the Looking Glass". However, unlike fairy tales, developers demonstrate their own vision of the world – it is more cruel and bloodthirsty towards the heroine.

Plot

It all starts from the moment a few years before the development of the main plot, when Alice is in a dream in Wonderland. At this moment, a fire occurs in the house, during which the parents of the main character die. She miraculously manages to survive, but the girl blames herself for the death of loved ones, which is why she gets a strong emotional trauma.

Alice is sent to a psychiatric hospital for a couple of years, where she is being treated after an injury. After leaving the hospital, the girl again finds herself in Wonderland, only with an already traumatized psyche and this world turns out to be not so kind at all.

Gameplay

Among the key gameplay features of the American McGee's Alice action game, it is necessary to highlight:

• the presence of acrobatics mechanics, with which the heroine is able to move through multi-level locations (jump, climb walls, swing on ropes, and so on);
• the health indicator replaces the scale of reason;
• the presence of a scale of willpower – it is necessary for the use of weapons (if her indicators have fallen to zero, then Alice will not be able to fight);
• the presence of many puzzles related to interaction with platforms;
• In addition to weapons and her own fists, Alice can use unique skills;
