Supreme Commander 2 [v 1.250 + 1 DLC] (2010) PC
Supreme Commander 2 is a real–time strategy sequel about the war of three high-tech races. The plot, landscapes and units of the game are very similar to its predecessor, except that the maps have become more compact, and the emphasis on the multiplayer campaign is more noticeable.
A flimsy truce
A quarter of a century after the end of the events of the first part, Earthlings, Enlightened and Kibran lived peacefully until one bullet destroyed a short-lived alliance. The murder of the head of the Colonial Defense Coalition was the spark that rekindled racial intolerance. At first, the space nations inflicted small insults on each other, and then switched to a large-scale war, which was enough for exactly three campaigns. The gamer will be able to look at what is happening through the eyes of representatives of all three warring parties and find out the ending of the story in the last battle. Unless, of course, he gets entangled in the twists and turns of a very banal plot.
Familiar mechanics
The gameplay of the sequel resembles the gameplay of the first game. First you need to build a base, start actively collecting resources, and then build not too powerful planes and tanks. If everything was done correctly, very soon cool fighters, robots, huge cruisers and even superweapons will appear in the arsenal. Now you can also attack the enemy by gathering your entire army in a heap and hitting the enemy first of all with a large number of units, and finally with a spectacular nuclear explosion. At first, it's hard enough to feel like a real commander-in-chief, because the tasks now and then indicate which type of weapon should be used. Only closer to the final, the player is allowed to pore over tactical maneuvers on his own.
Innovations
The nonlinear development of units is one of the main innovations of Supreme Commander 2, which distinguishes it from the previous strategy of developers. Research points obtained during the construction of research centers and for the destruction of enemies can be invested in two branches of development. The first is responsible for the modernization of the army, and the second allows you to speed up the process of creating an army. Another innovation reduces the role of the quantitative advantage of the army.
Research points allow you to open experimental units that can very quickly get near enemy positions and arrange a complete rout there. Some unlocked abilities look even cooler: for example, you can subdue enemy units to your will and
