Plot

In the distant future, humanity has completely depleted the resources of the Earth and began to pump them from other planets. For this purpose, huge ripper ships were created that are capable of processing entire planets.

One of these ships called "Ishimura" sends a distress signal after a mission on the planet Aegis-7. A group of soldiers and scientists go to the ship to find out what happened.

Once on board the Ishimura, they become victims of an attack by monstrous creatures that resemble the living corpses of dead crew members. The main character Isaac Clarke learns that they have turned into monsters because of the Obelisk artifact found containing the genetic material of the necromorph race.

Gameplay

Dead Space is an action adventure that is not suitable for everyone (it is better to avoid it for the weak–minded and too impressionable), since there are not that many scenes of cruelty here – the plot is teeming with them.

Among the key gameplay features of a sci-fi horror movie, it is necessary to highlight:
