Heroes of Might and Magic 6 / Might & Magic Heroes VI [v 2.1.1] (2011) PC

New games of the Heroes of Might and Magic series are released with enviable constancy. Of course, several developers have already changed, among them was the Russian Nival, and the spirit of the game does not change.

Family drama

The plot is quite simple: good and evil confront each other in a fantasy world. The main characters of the gameplay will be the children of Emperor Vyacheslav: Anton, Sandor, Anastasia, Kirill, Irina. Anton, after the murder of his father, becomes the ruler of the Empire. Guided by the voices in his head, he declares war on the archangels, in an attempt to stop the Chaos. Anton is assisted by Irina, the Naga warlord, and Kirill, the demon lord.

Anastasia commits the murder of her father: her consciousness was subordinated to someone's evil will. She is killed by the new emperor, saving her sister from the tortures of the Inquisition. The resurrected Anastasia becomes a necromancer.

The emperor's illegitimate son Sandor, the eldest of the children, goes to the Orcs. He, too, is destined to contribute to the overall development of a complicated family drama. In simple words, each character represents his own faction. 

Simplicity and accessibility

The gameplay has been greatly simplified. In the tactical strategy, many developments of the past years have been removed. So, the developers have removed a number of spells due to their lack of demand. The development of the city has now become linear. First comes the construction of buildings of the first level, then the second, etc., depriving the player of prioritization.

Now there is no need to storm the mines to get resources. It will be enough for the main character to capture the nearest city, and control over the loot will pass into his hands. Accordingly, he can no longer leave his troops to protect the mines. There are fewer resources. The economy will be determined by wood, ore, crystals and gold. Which significantly speeds up the pumping of cities.

During the battle, there is almost no time to think. Most units are able to cross the battlefield in two moves, dealing a crushing blow to the enemy. However, in the game Heroes of Might and Magic 6, if you run into a serious opponent, you can always run without losses.  

Battles

The fight will not look banal and monotonous. In addition to the colorful storming of the city, the usual clash of two armies and a naval battle, a boss battle and a battle on the bridge are available in the gameplay. The boss is a single unit capable of performing several actions in 1 turn. The battle on the bridge is notable for the fact that the playing field is stretched and no creature can overcome it in one turn. 

Game factions and add-ons

The creators of the sixth game of the Heroes series originally planned that there should be six factions available for gameplay: the Alliance of Light (humans), Rebellious Tribes (Orcs), Inferno (demons), Sanctuary (nagas), Necropolis (dead and zombies) and Academy (magicians). Shortly before the release, the Academy was deleted from the basic version. She, along with the League of Shadows (Dark Elves), is available in the Facets of Darkness addon.

In addition to the aforementioned supplement, the Golden Edition includes "Pirates of the Wild Sea" and "Dance of Death". The first addon adds the Craig Hag campaign. "Dance of Death" will reveal the story of the lich Sandro, who only wants to take over the whole world.
