Heart & Slash is a third–person action game that combines elements of the slasher and roguelike genre, inspired by works such as Bayonetta, Mega Man and ADOM.

The game was developed by the studio aheartfulofgames, thanks to the support of Kickstarter users.

Description

The action takes place in the distant future, when robots are the only thing left after the collapse of humanity. However, not all of them fit into the stereotypical image. As a result of an erroneous installation, there are units that can find their identity and even, like the main character, be loved. In the game, we take on the role of an intelligent robot – Heart, which is trying with all its might to free itself from the tyranny of the all-seeing leader known as QuAsSy.

Gameplay

The gameplay mechanism can be described as a mixture of classics – Devil May Cry and the modern indie game The Binding of Isaac. We move through the locations of three different worlds, all of which differ in style and different opponents. Our task is to effectively eliminate hostile robots and engage in fierce battles against powerful bosses. We have a large arsenal, hand-to-hand combat and firearms, as well as the ability to replace parts of our robot, giving it a number of new abilities, such as teleportation, the ability to walk on walls and a system for detecting weaknesses of our enemies.

As befits the roguelike genre, death is permanent, and each subsequent reincarnation not only changes the appearance of the map, but also enemies and secret rooms containing valuable collectibles. However, the main character retains the previously acquired skill.
