Crysis 2 is a computer video game in the genre of a third–person shooter, which is a direct continuation of the original Crysis 2007 release.

The game takes place 3 years after the events in the Philippine Islands, and the main character becomes a soldier nicknamed Alcatraz.

A well-known German studio called Crytek worked on the creation of the game.

Plot

The US and Korean governments hid the fact of the conflict on the islands and kept silent about the alien invasion, so as not to sow panic. In 2023, a terrible epidemic begins in New York, which turned out to be only the beginning of the disasters of humanity. The virus is just the first wave before a massive attack by aliens, who were called "cephas".

Alcatraz and his team land in New York and come under heavy enemy fire. Thanks to the fighter in the nanosuit, the Prophet, he manages to survive. Infected with the virus, the Prophet gives Alcatraz a suit, and he kills himself with a shot to the head.

Armed with a nanosuit, the main character must at all costs find a way to stop the invasion of aliens on Earth.

Gameplay

Crysis 2 is a full–fledged continuation of the first part, not only in terms of plot, but also in terms of gameplay. The developers left the key mechanics, only slightly modifying them. Among the main features of the project are the following:

• a unique nanosuit – a super armor that gives the hero incredible abilities;
• a lot of models of firearms, as well as futuristic alien barrels;
• advanced combat system, including active firefights and stealth passage;
• use of various modes of transport;
• the ability to upgrade character skills and much more.
