Description

From the very beginning of forma.8 represents both gameplay and narration in a very subtle way. After a short animation, you gain control of a small probe, and the only hint of any target you have is just a dot on the map. You have no textual information throughout the game, except for basic hints, and they only appear when you gain new skills.

Gameplay

At first glance, forma.8 looks like a regular 2D platform. However, instead of controlling any type of anthropomorphic creature, you take control of a small probe. Instead of depending on your walking and jumping skills to outrun the game's many obstacles, you just float through all the scenery.

Exploring the world is certainly one of its main pillars and is constantly rewarded with new items and bonuses. The first skill you get allows you to create a short burst of energy around the probe. Some of the skills work best against enemies, while others can be used to explore new landscapes.

In addition to battles, there are also puzzles, they are usually simple, and most of them consist in obtaining a key element to open the passage. Some of them will undoubtedly make you think outside the box, suggesting that you find inventive ways and use your skills.
