Langoth is an action–adventure video game, the name of which means a person's longing for Paradise - the personification of the departed, with only one hope for the touch of the reflections of the past.
The game was developed by the independent studio Atum Software.
Description
The world of Langoth is unreal – it is a multi-level, high-quality digital simulation. Due to a virus attack on the base system, the program was damaged, and all living beings disappeared from the world. Hope is gradually disappearing, and the higher beings plan to reset the simulation starting with a long process of evolution. If it does happen, the world will never be the same.
Simply changing the base code during its launch is no longer possible, but, fortunately, not all is lost. You were sent here from the outside world as a last hope to save and remove the virus from the simulation. Will you be able to fulfill your mission and restore your former life on Earth?
Gameplay
In Langoth there is a choice between a man and a woman. Once you have gained control of your character, you can explore the world, collect purple gems and bombs, avoid or kill glowing figures that serve monsters, also look for glowing, green fountains that somehow open big doors.
You will need to create a basic platform using simple geometric shapes sprouting from a carbonated desert, dodge instantly killing hammers and jump on rotating plates. Your jump is extremely slow, and paired with a camera, it is difficult to aim at the right places. Perhaps the gameplay is similar in principle to Talos and Clustertruck. Although the movements of the characters and mechanics seem straightforward.
