Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is a first–person shooter published by EA Games and developed by 2015 in 2002.

Plot

Lieutenant Mike Powell, the main character, is a qualified US Army ranger, as well as an agent of the Office of Strategic Services. Powell and a team of rangers are in Argev, Algeria, fighting on the North African front. The squad tries to break into the city, but an ambush kills the entire team, except for the lieutenant. Powell continues to live in North Africa, where he rescues S.A.S. Major Jack Grillo and gets his gear. They go to a German airfield, where they successfully destroy Stuka submarine bombers. While Grillo distracts the German troops, Powell sneaks into the bunker, disconnects the Axis radio communication and signals the Allied fleet to begin the invasion of Africa. After success, the main character and his partner go to German-occupied Norway to infiltrate the city of Trondheim, where there is a Kriegsmarine submarine equipped with a prototype Naxos radar detector. Grillo gets into the base, but he is killed by German troops. Powell infiltrates the base, then disguises himself in the uniform of a German soldier and enters the dock, where he destroys the prototype of Naxos.

Gameplay

The player assumes the role of Lieutenant Michael Powell. Single-player missions include:

1. Attack on German bases in Algeria and Norway.
2. Storming Omaha Beach on D-Day.
3. Rescue comrades behind enemy lines in occupied France.

The levels are often compared to Steven Spielberg's 1998 film Saving Private Ryan. Many levels are direct quotes from the movie.

Multiplayer
