Portal Stories: Mel (2015) PC

Portal Stories: Mel is a single–player Portal 2 mod developed by Prism Studios and released on June 25, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux, available to users who own Portal 2 on Steam.

Plot

The mod begins when Mel, an Olympian of the 1936 Summer Olympics arrives by tram at the headquarters of Aperture: Science Innovators in Michigan. She then enters a massive underground complex as a volunteer testing facility. CEO Cave Johnson speaks to Mel via prerecorded messages over the intercom, informing her that she is taking part in one of her smaller tests.

Gameplay

Like the original game, Portal Stories is a first–person puzzle game. You will play as the character Mel. Soon in the story, the player will acquire a prototype version of the portal weapon, which allows you to create a connected hole on two different flat surfaces. This allows you to access inaccessible areas, passing objects, light, laser beams and other things through portals, as well as use portals as an "outlier" of Mel or other objects on the level. This all leads the user to solve various puzzles that need to be solved in order to gain access to the exit point and continue moving through the plot.

The character may die after being shot by automatic hazards, but this will simply return the hero to the previous checkpoint. Portal Stories: Mel adds several new features, such as:

1. Water releasing fire.
2. Electrified water.
3. A deadly version of the emancipation grill.
