Perception (2017) PC

Perception is a tense first—person horror adventure game about a blind heroine, Cassie, who is mysteriously attracted to Echo Bluff, a large mansion in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Plot

You play as a blind woman exploring a haunted house using echolocation, which means that you explore the mansion in a truly unique way, using a cane to identify objects around you, and your tools and applications to improve vision interact with your surroundings. The main character is attracted to the mansion because she has seen it in recurring nightmares, her dreams about it seem significant. Perhaps she hopes that visits and places will banish nightmares, or perhaps she is trying to prove her independence by taking up ghosts, and Cassie herself reacts to fear from time to time, asking herself: "What am I doing here?" But maybe there's a connection between Cassie and this place after all.

Gameplay

Perception is you, alone, in the dark, tapping and slowly moving forward.

Sometimes what you see in this house amazes you, but mostly you're just looking for the next object that will trigger the image and allow you to move on.

Features:

• each of the five chapters will last from one hour to three, depending on how much time you spend exploring and getting lost in the dark;
• the image of the world on a visual level is fantastic, especially when you walk or run, rather than touching a cane when you walk;
• You can't use color to perceive depth, instead the color of the contours represents Cassie's stress levels.;
• basically you rely on the sounds you make yourself when indoors, but considering how important sound is, perception is a very noisy game;
