Ys I & II (2013) PC

Ys I & II is a role–playing video game released in 1989 by Hudson Soft. The game consists of improved remakes of the first two Ys games developed and published by Nihon Falcom.

Plot

The game begins with a video that shows the main character, Adol Kristin, gazing at the sea in Stormwell. He appeared near the island of Esteria six months ago. Determined to investigate the situation, Adol sets off towards Esteria in a small boat. However, he gets caught in a storm, and after a while the sea threw the main character ashore.

He was rescued by a villager named Slaff from the port city of Barbodo. Adol recovers in the house of Dr. Barbado and learns that Slaff is the doctor's son and the head of the militia of the city. This squad was formed when demons and monsters appeared on the island, at the same time that Stormwave was formed. Stormwall cut off Esteria from the rest of the world and completely stopped the trade in silver, which is mined in this country.

Adol intends to learn more about the situation in the largest city of Minea. There he meets a female troubadour named Rey. She is looking for a Silver Harmonica that was stolen. The theft is connected with a man in the dark cape. Then the protagonist contacts the fortune teller Sarah, who tells him that the fire swordsman will play a key role in the fate of Esteria.

She tells about the six books of Isa, named after the ancient kingdom that existed on the island seven hundred years ago. Ys books contain the full story of their rise and fall and will contribute to the rescue of Esteria. Sarah informs the protagonist that one such book is in the Temple of Solomon and sends him to the city of Tsepik to talk to her aunt Jeba.
