Thimbleweed Park (2017) PC

Thimbleweed Park is a fun and modern adventure game that looks like a forgotten relic of the LucasArts heyday, but is able to make it a little more relevant to a modern audience.

If you like classic adventure games like ManiacMansion and MonkeyIsland, ThimbleweedPark carries the same DNA with some modern updates. It's fair to say that no one else makes them like that.

Plot

The story begins with the appearance of a dead body in the park, but, as they say, in the game itself, "in a city like Thimbleweed, a dead body is the least of your problems." You will play as five main characters and will be able to learn the unique stories of each of them. And although the main plot looks quite mysterious, the bizarre world and characters will throw up a lot of humor.

Gameplay

• Thimbleweed is able to make you feel nostalgic for the classic novels of the 80s and 90s;
• the color scheme enlivens each scene, thus recalling the eeriness and charm of TwinPeaks;
• the murder that opens at the very beginning is a big mystery that needs to be solved, however, there is a lot of time for that;
• the puzzle dominates the story;
• there are items for interacting with the virtual world, characters with whom you can meet and talk;
• the gameplay is exceptionally simple – all actions performed in the game include the selection of an element or symbol;
• The sets and items you can interact with inside Thimbleweed have a huge amount of detail, from the looming shadows of the park in the dark to hundreds of books you can read at you
